After arriving in Mozambique from South Africa by air and getting my stamp, I headed off to a beautiful Private Island called Medjumbe!

Medjumbe Island is one of the beautiful azure Quirimbas Islands off the northern coast of Mozambique, within the Quirimbas National Park and you can only really get their by small plane, or by boat which takes quite a long time. The flight offers a chance to see lots of islands, and coral reefs.

Of course once you make the landing, and thanking the wind gods for being still, one has to get their picture with the runway sign board! I did watch a few landings when the wind was blowing and I have to say, I am very thankful I was not on those flights! But the superb pilots who make this trip daily make it look soooo easy!

The resort was very relaxing, and each unit has a Jacuzzi outside to chill in while sipping wine or drinking local beer and taking in the most incredible azure blue sea! It is very very hot here, so a swimming in this glorious blue azure water is very pleasant and you can see the fish swimming around you!

The local fishermen would bring in fresh seafood, which the chefs would prepare to perfection!
