UPDATE! There is a new price list for drinks now as the venue has become quite popular! January 2014!

(If you are in Bangkok, then this new and unknown spot is a great place to come for sunset (Unlucky for me, no sun to see set this day) to get some photos of Bangkok from a high point while having a beer, cocktail or “just keep walking” Johnnie Walker whisky. The price of a beer was B170.00 and during happy hour you got 2 for the price of 1). There are about 3 or 4 floors where you can sit and drink and places to sit and eat dinner while overlooking Bangkok at night. I found the service to be really good too!

As it has just recently opened it is not yet crowded , and you can walk around easily to see the magnificent view of Bangkok melting from day into night watching the fading of natural light turning into the illumination of city lights.

It was a great place to watch the hustle and bustle of the busy traffic weaving its way around below you and not being caught up in it.

🙂 Enjoy…

Walking with lions in Zimbabwe at Victoria Falls

Zimbabwe – Victoria Falls – Southern Africa

On my trip to Zimbabwe’s Victoria Falls, I was blessed to be given the opportunity to walk around with and stroke some lion cubs. They are true magnificent animals, and one can see the gentleness in them, yet can see close up the size of the paws, the claws and the teeth which become vital killing tools for them as they grow up.

As I have a couple of encounters with them in the wild where there is no difference between you and all the other walking food, it was great to be able to interact with these cubs very close up who were very peaceful and relaxed.

They are already aware sitting on raised areas to get a good view of their surroundings which will serve them later in life to see their breakfast, lunch or dinner walking past.

After walking with the lions, I took a helicopter flight to have a look at the Victoria Falls (or Mosi-oa-Tunya- the Smoke that Thunders), one the great natural wonders of the world. The Zambezi river flows over the falls which is 1708 m in length and 108 m high. On the one side of the river is Zimbabwe, and the other side is Zambia. The Zambezi River starts up in Zambia and is 2574km long, and is the 4th largest river in Africa (1st. Nile – 6,695 km. 2nd Congo – 4,700 km. 3rd.Niger – 4,200 km ). The river flows through Eastern Angola, Eastern Namibia, Botswana and  Zimbabwe and releases itself in the Indian ocean after flowing through Mozambique.

I have seen this awesome river in its many states, and must say in rainy season when this mighty river is in full flow it’s something to behold, and the amount of water flowing over these falls is mind blowing.  I highly recommend coming to see them in rainy season, although not the best time to come on safari, as there is so much water, the animals do not have to come to the water holes, rivers or other places they need to frequent everyday during the dry season.

Zimbabwe is well known for its stone carvings, and some of the Zimbabwean people are very artistic creating not only stone sculptures/carvings, but also wooden sculptures/carvings too.

Reflecting on my day

Reflecting on my day

After an amazing day of fun and adventure, it was time to go back to the hotel and reflect on the day gone past and settle in with some cocktails as the fiery red sun sets. The day time animals will start to settle as well, and the night animals will start to stir, where the calls of the hyenas and the roar of the lions will start to reverberate around the night sky.

There is no place like Africa! 🙂

Vervet monkeys are very common and very inquisitive. They are always on the search for open hotel rooms, which could offer lunch for them. Their climbing abilities are amazing to watch as they climb up the walls of the multi-story hotel building in search for food!

Thailand – Bangkok – Wat Traimit Temple of Golden Buddha

Thailand – Bangkok – China Town

Wat Traimit Temple of Golden Buddha

On the 28th December 2012 I went sightseeing and ended up at the Golden Buddha in China Town. Wat (Temple) Traimit houses the world’s largest golden seated Buddha measuring nearly five metres in height and weighing five and a half tons.

I took the photo of the Temple and then went to do a prayer by the lanterns on the right of the main Temple building, and then I went up to where the Golden Buddha sits. I was feeling very much at peace as I had a really enjoyable day taking in the sights, sounds, colours, textures and the street life of Bangkok, as well as the rush of China town. There was so much to look at, and as I enjoy taking photographs, I am always look at things to see if I can get a picture of it.

I took off my shoes and entered the room and got an amazing, wonderful feeling of love and a warm feeling over me. I did a little thank you prayer infront of The Golden Buddha and then waited for a gap inbetween the people praying to get the picture.

When I got home and put the images on my computer, I noticed these rainbow lights and aura coming out the entrance where the Golden Buddha sits, and at the left of the stairs. I am really amazed to see these wonderful lights. I did not see any lights at the time while there, but did have a light happy feeling. 🙂
